I am a fan of Netflix because of its affordability and I quite frankly do not watch TV much. I just recently watched a documentary on Netflix called GMO OMG and it really brough to light this topic I am about to talk about. Non-GMO gifts and eco-friendly presents. This is a time of year in which many of us are thinking about getting friends, family and co-workers little gifts to let them know we care. Most of us are shopping online or in-stores at major retail companies looking for a good deal and a gift that is personal and considerate. But why are we not looking to purchase gifts that are also good for the environment? Here are some ideas for holiday gifts that will lessen your carbon foot print yet make a loved one feel special.
1. Whole Foods-This is a great place to start if you are looking for a small gift or even looking to build a large basket for your relatives or boss. Building a gift basket would be easy. Find an inexpensive basket at a thrift store and buy some organic oranges, apples, mixed nuts, and maybe even a bag of organic coffee or tea from the grocery store and put it in the basket. Play around with this idea. For a young girl you can make a basket with lip balms, bath salts, soap bars, and organic paraben free facial lotions. Whole Foods even has eco-friendly nail polish now!
2. Organic and non-GMO websites!

3. What about making a homemade gift?
I just recently make an amazing whipped coconut facial cream. Whip 1/2 cup of coconut oil for 10 minutes with an electric whisk. Then add 5 drops of lavender essential oil, 5 drops of tea tree oil, and 5 drops of essential lemon oil and mix again. This makes your skin feel luxurious!
4. Lastly, you could build a Gardner's kit. Get some organic seeds, gardening gloves, and an organic gardening book and make a fun basket with these items.
Lastly, do you have a vegetarian or vegan friend who you are stumped on what to get for the holidays? Or maybe a friend who wants to become a vegetarian but needs help?
